Scout Oath Taking Ceremoney


The school  (Maaen'boodhoo Madharusa)'s Scout Oath taking ceremony was conducted on 8th October 2015, Thursday at 20:00 Hrs. This was one of the most colourful event of the school in 2015. The school was beatified  with decorative series of lights. A special dinner was served for all the invitees, parents and children Jointly by Parent Teacher Association and parents of the scouts. Chief Guest was by Mr. Ahmed Amir, Member Parliament (MP) of South Nilande Atoll (Dhaal Atoll) Kudahuvadhoo Region.
The oath taken was done by Saiful Azhar, the scout leader of Arabiyya School Madives. Dressing the scout scarf and certificates to the scoud leaders, helpers and petrol leaders were distributed by the chief quest, the  Commission of the Scout Association of Maldives Mr. Mohamed Abdulla ( Kendhoo Leader), Vice President of the Island Counsil Mr. Abdull Rasheed, Assistant Director of Island Counsil Mr. Muaz Adam in-charge of the Health Center, Community Health Assistant Ms. Nasheeda Abdull Azeez, School board Chairperson Ms. Zulfa Hussain and principal of the school Mr. Ahmed Nazim.

Importance of Scouting in Schools


Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that greatly influence the students, adult lives. Moreover, it increases the children's motivation level in academic as well as other activities in school and after school. Researchers show that scouting influences the students to value the others; ready to help others, appreciate others idea and creativity and national and cultural heritage etc. 


Scouting is one of the uniform body in Maldivian schools. It is thought that an interesting activity that assists to shape students in more productive way by schools. The first indoor camp in Maaen'boodhoo School was held on 12 to 14 March 2015. The school hopes that a Scout Troupe would be registered and activities started in a short future in a regular basis in the school.


Scouting provides youth with an opportunity to try new things, provide service to others, build self-confidence, and reinforce ethical standards. These opportunities not only help them when they are young, but carry forward into their adult lives, improving their relationships, their work lives, their family lives, A Scout is a friend to all. He is a brother to other Scouts. He seeks to understand others. A Scout follows the rules of his family, school, and troop. He obeys the laws of his community and country. If he thinks these rules and laws are unfair, he tries to have them changed in an orderly manner rather than disobey them

Physical Education

Some Ideas to Establish a Resource Centre in the Island Schools


As the Maldives is a country which is formed into separate, small islands, there is a large number of school when comparing the total population. There is at least a school in each island in spite the population is very low. As a result we might feel that we do not have sufficient resources to establish a resource centre in the school. I would like to say “Don’t worry about that, we have resources, we can produce resources, so we can form the school resource centre”.

Some Ideas to establish a resource centre

  • As been a school principal, you should take initiatives to aware the staff and motivate them for developing a resource centre. In addition, the students, parents and other related community members also needed to be aware.
